Now, let’s take a look at becoming a life coach.
What is a Life Coach
A Life Coach is a person who discusses your goals with you and helps you develop a plan of action to achieve these goals. For example, they may assist you with a goal to improve a specific skill set you have been struggling with or help you modify your behavior to improve in a particular area.
Now, with that said, a Life Coach is not a therapist. So they do not try to analyze or discuss the “why” or the reason you have a particular behavior.
A Life Coach is there to help with the “how” in moving forward when you may have been stuck.
The benefits of being a Life Coach
During my career, I have worked with many individuals who had an exceptional ability to help others. Usually, these individuals would be the go-to person, that employee who knew their job inside and out. They could teach others how to perform job tasks the person had been struggling with.
Also, I have met individuals who have faced unusual battles in their life, physical, mental, or even with their health. However, these individuals overcame these battles and inspired others to do the same. This is very rewarding because you can make a difference in a person’s life by using your life experience to help someone else navigate through similar challenges you have faced.
If you have this skillset and passion for helping others, this would be an excellent opportunity to transfer those skills into an additional income stream for yourself by becoming a life coach.
The different types of Life Coaches
Many different types of Life Coaches encompass a wide range of specialties. Here are some examples:
- Life Coaching
- Relationship Coaching
- Transition Coaching
- Group Coaching
- Couples Coaching
- Parents & Teens Coaching
- Health & Wellness Coaching
- Sports Performance Coaching
- Small Business & Professional Coaching
As you can see, there are many areas to work in the Life Coach profession. This is worth exploring if you have a passion or desire to help others fulfill their potential.
